What do you think?

Just for fun...vote on your favorite baby girl name :) As you can see--Peyton and Camden are gone and we've added Charlotte. Regardless of the results, we'll name her after meeting her--but I'm curious what our family and friends really think :)

34 Weeks

We are 34 weeks today!! I am feeling pretty good still...big, but good :) My feet swell up pretty quickly and it is uncomfortable to lay or sit in a position for too long. On Monday we went to our third (of four) birthing class. Justin was a good sport and tried on the empathy belly--he couldn't wait to take that thing off! It was nice to feel like he sort of understands how it feels to carry around so much extra weight. I only wish I had brought my camera!

Just the Two of Us

Justin and I took our "babymoon" in Pittsburgh this weekend. Justin had car trouble on Friday and didn't go into work so he could get it worked on. So, we decided to drop the car off at the shop and head out of town! We stayed in an area of Pittsburgh we had stayed in before and did some exploring. We shopped, ate out and spent tons of quality time together--it was awesome! So glad that we took the opportunity to take this short trip together!

33 Weeks!

Wow I am big! The good news is I don't feel as big as I look...until I try to go to sleep :) We saw our doctor this week and he said everything looks good. Here is what we learned at our appointment:
  • Baby girl's heart rate was 150--pretty consistent for her, it's always been between 146 and 150
  • She is still head down and he said it's very unlikely for her to move out of position now
  • He said after 35 weeks (IN 2 WEEKS!) he would no longer try to stop labor
  • I will be induced 7-10 days after her due date--so she'll be here on March 13th or before :)
  • We won't have any more ultrasounds...bummer, but I guess that means there is no reason for concern

Justin and I are in full get-ready-for-baby mode! We have been attending our childbirth classes, washing tiny clothes and putting together baby equipment. It is amazing how much stuff such a tiny person can have! We have a bassinet and a stroller in our kitchen, a bouncy seat assembled in her room and a family room with little clothes folded and ready to be put away. She is consuming so much of our house and of course our thoughts and conversations!

After our busy trips around Christmas we were so happy to be home and done traveling. Tonight over dinner, though, we talked a little about taking one last "just the two of us trip". Somewhere close--maybe Pittsburgh--since it's only 1 1/2 hours away. We are beyond excited for her arrival, but do want to enjoy these precious last weeks when it's just the two of us :)

32 Weeks!

Here I am at 32 weeks! This week we have been busy getting ready for baby girl. On Monday we had our first of four childbirth education classes and yesterday Justin and I went to a "baby basics" class. With all of this talk of newborns, the life we have just around the corner is beginning to become very real!
Also new this week--the first appearance of stretch marks on my tummy. Although small and a faint purple now...I can probably count on them becoming more and more apparent soon. No biggie--it comes with the territory, I guess.
I am becoming more and more anxious to meet the little person who currently resides in my belly. The books say she is about 4 pounds and almost 18 inches long. I wonder what she'll be like, who she'll look like and I look forward to seeing God's plan for her unfold. We love her so much already!
